Submitted by Webmaster on Thu, 03/04/2010 - 10:24pm.

HB 1297, authored by Sheila Klinker, passed the House and the Senate today by unanimous consent and is on the way to Gov. Daniels for his signature. While the bill was stripped of many of its provisions, but it retains the central provision that allows universities to issue debt bonds based on anticipated pledged contributions. “Instead of waiting for all the money to come in, Purdue can start getting bids now before the costs go back up. In the long run it is going to save the state money and the university money,” said Rep. Klinker. Congratulations and thanks, Sheila! You can read more here.
