Columnist Howey Notes Obama's Stake in Elkhart and Indiana

Indiana political columnist Brian Howey begins his latest column as follows: "If there is an American city that will be chiseled into President Barack Obama’s legacy – whatever it turns out to be – it will be Elkhart." He goes on to enumerate President Obama's visits to Elkhart and the manner in which he has tied his hoped-for turn around in the economy to Indiana and Elkhart, including directing substantial stimulus money for battery and electric car development. Howey concludes, "Say what you want about our 44th president, but what is unmistakable is that he is staking the success of his presidency here in Indiana." You can read Howey's column here.
